Drag History
The history associated with gender impersonation is harder to research since most of LGBTQ+ history has been erased from the records over the last 300 hundred years. A great example of the elimination of queer history is the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, a research institute on sexology in Berlin prior to World War 2. The Nazi's burned all of the archives and research that the institute had achieved over decades of operations. While much of the history has been lost for ordinary people, we still find glimpses from the people and characters that culture will never forget. Please bear with us as we bring together all of our collective research. As new items are found, we will add them to this historical archive.
